Learn about the mission, organizational structure, and development history of the Open AI Infra Community.
The Open AI Infra Community is an open collaboration platform under the Global Computing Consortium (GCC), dedicated to AI infrastructure.
The community focuses on full-stack AI infrastructure from chips to power grids, including technical fields such as computing, interconnection, storage, integrated equipment, power supply and distribution, thermal management, DCs and energy storage, benchmarking, and testing and verification.
It covers the entire industry chain from core users to core technology providers. The community is committed to building an open, efficient, and win-win new computing ecosystem that meets AI requirements by working with community members and related partners to promote the formulation of technical specifications and implementation of solutions through an open co-creation model.
Driven by the principles of openness, innovation, collaboration, and win-win, we drive the evolution of AI infrastructure technologies.
Requirement Definition: Align with key requirements of core users to define the direction of AI infrastructure hardware R&D, ensuring that the technical roadmap meets industry realities.
Openness and Sharing: Open design and decision-making processes to break down technical barriers and lower the threshold for industry innovation.
Collaborative Innovation: Connect core technology forces in computing systems with core users, fostering close upstream and downstream collaboration to drive technological breakthroughs.
Continuous Evolution: Leverage the open-source model to accelerate rapid technology iteration, maintaining the advancement and vitality of the technical architecture.
Guided by engineering practice, we form a technology-to-business positive cycle driven by large-scale construction demand.
Ecosystem Co-construction: Integrate upstream and downstream resources to build an open-source, full-stack AI computing ecosystem.
The Global Computing Consortium (GCC) initiated the establishment of the Open Liquid Cooling Professional Committee, focusing on the standardization of liquid cooling technologies and laying the foundation for subsequent upgrades.
The committee was upgraded to a full-stack AI infrastructure community, with its service scope expanded to cover all fields, including chips, servers, and networks.
The number of community member units exceeded 100, covering the entire industry chain, including internet companies, carriers, and equipment vendors.
Multiple technical specifications, such as the GCC Liquid-Cooled Rack System Architecture Design Specifications (Type A), were released, and the development of benchmarking tools was initiated.
More than 1,500 participants gathered in Beijing to release multiple technical specifications and the AIDC pilot site certification project. The number of member units exceeded 150.
A scientific and standardized governance system ensures efficient collaboration and sustainable development of the community.
The highest decision-making body of the community, responsible for coordinating strategic directions and making decisions on major issues.
Composed of senior industry experts, it provides advisory suggestions on the community's technical roadmap and industry development.
